Desert Botanical Garden is a 140-acre botanical garden located in Papago Park, at 1201 N. Galvin Parkway in Phoenix.

Coon Bluff - Mesa
A recreational area adjacent to the lower portion of the Salt River, a stand of mesquite provides welcome shade. At certain times of the year, the river is lower and photos can be done on the bed of rocks among the mountainside. Additional backdrop opportunities include a red cliff.

Usery Mountain Regional Park - Mesa
This is a gorgeous large regional park that may be a little less crowded. There are many trails, mountains and a natural landscape.

Riparian Preserve - Gilbert
A beautiful preserve with a lake, bridge and lots of flowers (depending on the time of year) and other foliage along with a cactus garden.
Veteran's Oasis - Chandler
Another beautiful preserve with a lake, stream, waterfall, trails and an area with citrus trees.
Ponds at Higley and Ocotillo - Gilbert
A beautiful walkway through mature trees, a bridge and ponds rich with wildlife.

The Grove - Chandler
A church on the border of Chandler and Gilbert that has a coffee shop, rows of pistachio trees, accent walls, boardwalks, etc.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum - Superior
Boyce Thompson Arboretum is the largest and oldest botanical garden in the state of Arizona. Early mornings are preferred during the summer months, especially since they close before sunset.

Tumbleweed Ranch Park
Tumbleweed Ranch, operated by Chandler Museum, explores Chandler’s agricultural roots. Beginning in the 1890s, cotton, dairy, sheep, citrus, alfalfa, sugar beets, and other agricultural pursuits shaped our community.
There is an array of options, including a citrus grove, a strip of grass between rows of trees & old farm houses and equipment.
Lost Dutchman State Park - Apache Junction
Named after the fabled lost gold mine, Lost Dutchman State Park is located in the Sonoran Desert, at the base of the Superstition Mountains, only 40 miles east of Phoenix. Several trails lead from the park into the Superstition Mountain Wilderness and surrounding Tonto National Forest.
*$50 Photography permit required (may be shared with another family for the day) in addition to $10 entrance fee per car
Mesa Arts Center - Mesa
A fun location with a variety of backdrops, ranging from a row of pine trees, buildings, colorful walls and staircases.
Tempe Arts Center - Tempe
A gorgeous location with amazing white suspension bridge that hangs over the Salt River. The Arts Centers provides shade against the sunset and a variety of backdrops.

A beautiful sandy wash lined with trees and bushes in Queen Creek.
